This is a blend of oils that was given to me by my friend, Sherrie.  Sherrie is also a fibromyalgia gal who waved goodbye to her symptoms after using Young Living Oil.  These oils became her passion and she loves to share them! (who doesn’t?).  I only modified one ingredient from the original and that is to add marjoram.  Marjoram is great for nerve pain. It can be diluted in carrier oil and applied directly to an area of acute pain. I have used this on my own Fibro pain, and on my husband’s hand, which he broke several years ago, that still has pain.  Before continuing I will remind you that I can only speak for the therapeutic effects of Young Living Essential Oils. If you chose to use oils from another company, I have no idea if they will work for you. It all depends on the grade of oils.  See my page “Oils 101” for more information.  As my experience grows this recipe may be tweaked a little, but here it is in its original form:

Here is the Songbird Blend recipe:

2 Drops Thieves Blend

10 Drops Eucalyptus Radiata – (anti-inflammatory)

10 drops Ginger – (anti-inflammatory, used also for muscle aches)

6 drops Nutmeg – (anti-inflammatory. muscle relaxer, analgesic produces growth hormone. Used for nerve pain and rheumatoid pain)

10 drops Peppermint – (anti-inflammatory, pain reliever)

3 drops Rosemary – (mental clarity and it smells really good!)

10 drops Marjoram – (anti-inflammatory, analgesic, used on nerve pain and deep muscle pain.

2 tbs carrier oil of your choice

Rub 1-2 drops on chest and back, once daily.

  1. Have you found that it makes a difference whether you apply this in the morning or at night? I am gonna give it a try this weekend…thanks so very much for sharing your experiences!

    • Hi Kathy! In the beginning I put it on before bed. Now I put it on after my shower in the morning and haven’t really noticed a difference. I do put the raindrop-in-a-bottle on my feet before bed so it can work overnight. That seems to be key. Others that are using Songbird are having success so I can’t wait to hear back from you!!

  2. Thanks so much for getting back to me -I am eager to give it a try! So do you do the raindrop every night or just once a week?

    • To start out I wouldn’t do it more than twice a week – so how you respond to it because it detoxes it can make you feel wiped out the next day (of course, when you are dealing with fatigue, what’s the difference, right??) It didn’t make me tired at all, initially, so I did it every night. But see how you do, first. It did cause me to have dark circles under my eyes 😦 and that went away when I started doing it twice a week.
